How Kaede and Rintarou are pretty much exactly what Saga-sempai and Ritsu would’ve grown up to be if they’d been able to stay together?

HighSchool!Ritsu and Rintarou are both kind of shy, excitable guys who get really flustered around their boyfreen but in an adorable way and are clearly head-over-heels in love, while Saga (post-Ritsu) would’ve likely grown up into Kaede had he been given the chance—cool and cocky on the outside, but with an inner confidence that comes from knowing that someone loves him unconditionally, and while he might take joy in teasing his ~lover~, it clearly comes from a place of love and not idle mischief or bullying.

Granted, current!Ritsu is nothing like Rintarou, but I love pondering what might’ve happened if Ritsu had been able to grow up from the kid he was without becoming jaded. He’s not a prickly tsundere type by nature like other characters—he’s just been cut a shit lot in life in some respects, so I keep hoping some day the old Ritsu will come back and be as open about his feelings as he used to be ;^;
