Chapter 10.5 takes place during the taxi ride when Ryouma takes Izumi back home in Chapter 10, and they discuss Rei’s relationship with Izumi and how he’s more of a mother to Izumi than Izumi’s own mother (leaving Ryouma realizing that in order to get in good with Izumi, he must first surmount the twin Everest-level hurdles of Shougo and Rei)

Chapter 10.8 details Ryouma’s harrowing night as Izumi sleeps underwear-less in his bed…which mostly involves him taking lots and lots of pictures of Izumi in compromising positions XD;;;

Day 19 - BL manga you think should be animated

Man, there are far too many, but I’m going to go with the one that I think has the best chance as far as becoming a decent-length series (12+ episodes) that could air on TV with censorship (ala JR or SH) and retain an audience.

Love Stage!! by Zaou Taishi and Eiki Eiki

1) These ladies already have a fairly popular series that was made into an anime under their belt (Princess Princess), so they’ve demonstrated that they’re marketable.

2) It’s a fairly tame BL manga that doesn’t rely on sex scenes very heavily; in contrast to series like Junjou Romantica and Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi, which both have sex scenes where a lot of character realizations occur (which means that stripping the anime of these sex scenes greatly hurt the final product IMHO), Love Stage!! could easily be stripped down to only the most chaste of interactions and be little worse the wear for it.

3) It’s a comedy BL, and come on those are always fun! Most BL that get made into full-length series are also comedy as well to an extent (Nakamura’s works, Gravitation to some degree, Gakuen Heaven, SukiSho), while the heaver, dramatic series usually are made into OVAs.

Why hasn’t it gotten picked up in this way yet? Well—it’s still fairly new and fairly short so far (10 chapters and still going, though); Volume 2 isn’t even out yet (though it should be soon), and a 12-episode series takes about 3 volumes. It’s also fairly light, and while it comes from a popular artist/author team, you might be able to argue there’s not enough ‘substance’ yet to really fill out an anime season with. Still, I think there’s a good chance it could eventually be picked up, especially if it can get out at least another one or two volumes! *crosses fingers* It’s such a fun, cute, light-hearted, but still endearing BL series from one of my favorite teams, so I’m rooting for it to get the Princess Princess treatment!

Loved it as the anime, but I didn’t like the manga installments that catered to the other possible Keita pairings—so this is perfect for me since presumably it’ll follow the anime’s Kazuki/Keita), Super Lovers volume 4 (Abe Miyuki, I know it’s a bit of a squick having a guy in his mid 20s all but sleeping with a 15-year-old, but man their relationship is so cute and weird and slow-to-develop as it takes into account the age difference…), and Conbini-kun (see my above joy I slathered on Junko. FUCK I love all her stuff, it’s so sweet and sensitive and hot in appropriate ways and sdliufhslidfs)

I didn’t make it to Comiket this winter (never do XD I go home!) but K-books saved me 8D Got some beautiful Natsuki/Shou, a Natsuki/Satsuki/Shou that showed me how a threesome between them could not only work but be sldiufhsldfs fucking AMAZING, a lulzy all-three-pairings book (Natsuki/Shou, TokIttoki, and Ren/Masa), and a really sweet, calm, feel-good TokIttoki book. HUZZAH! I predict some of these will be scanlated quite soon XD
